ASANAS
The word ‘ASANA’ originated as a seated, meditation position and practise. The ancient gurus believed yoga was all about mastering the mind over 5,000 years ago. 🧘🏻♀️
It has evolved and transformed as we have modernised it into the yoga poses we know of today. And so, in modern yoga, asana means any type of pose or position - whether twisting, balancing etc in yoga. Asana poses sequence together as flows 🧘🏻♀️🙌🏻💕🤸🏽♀️🌞
We use asanas as a tool to cultivate that mind-body-breath connection, higher self awareness and inner peace, to evolve.
We can find our best selves on the mat. Some of my favourite asanas ⇢ camel (Ustrasana), locust (Śalabhāsana), aeroplane (Dekasana)
